In humble response to the yearnings and clarion call of his people for result-oriented and quality representation at the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, OFR is aspiring to represent the Rivers West Senatorial Zone in the Senate of the Federal Republic of NIgeria.

Rt. Hon. Prince Chibudom Nwabueze Nwuche was born on September 30, 1961 to the family of His Royal Highness, Eze Clifford Cheta Nwuche – the late traditional ruler of Upata Kingdom in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

An accomplished scholar, Hon Nwuche attended some of the best schools in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom where he bagged honors degrees in Politics and Philosophy with Astronomy and History as subsidiary subjects. He also has a Bachelor's degree (LLB. Hons) and Masters (LLM.) in Law earned from the prestigious Kings College, University of London.

Hon. Chibudom Nwuche had been active in the private sector since 1991 before he went into politics in 1998 at the behest of his people who overwhelmingly elected him into the National Assembly where he was subsequently elected to the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives by fellow lawmakers.

Hon. Nwuche was fondly referred to as The Tiger by his colleagues in the National Assembly because of his fearlessness, principled disposition and for being the strategist and key member of the think-tank of that august assembly.

His tenure in the National Assembly was a milestone in Nigeria's Parliamentary history. The Assembly was vibrant and Hon Nwuche was a critical player in the Green Chamber which was poignantly representative of the wishes and aspirations of the Nigerian masses. Hon. Nwuche as Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee of the Whole passed over 114 Bills, some of which he personally sponsored or played a very critical part in their expeditious passage, like the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Act, Corrupt Practices (EFCC) Bill, National Minimum Wage Bill, Coastal and Inland (Cabotage) Bill, Women Trafficking and Child Labor Eradication (WOTCLEF) Act, and the Nigerians with Disabilities Act. He was the originator and pioneer sponsor of the Nigerian (Local) Content Act which was passed by a later Assembly.

Hon. Nwuche, whilst in office empowered many Nigerians in various ways, including grant of scholarships, provision of employment and influencing the award of contracts and projects to them, appointments into Federal Boards, etc.

Through his efforts, several towns and villages in his constituency and Rivers State benefited from the Federal Government's development projects including the provision of social and infrastructural amenities such as roads, potable water and electricity.

Presently, Hon Nwuche owns a thriving law practice in Abuja and Lagos, and remains a consummate politician as well as an astute business personality and a key player in the oil and gas sector of the economy. He was member Presidential Advisory Council (PAC), Acting Deputy National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and currently Chairman Board of Governors, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

In recognition of his immense contributions to national growth and socio-political development, President Goodluck Jonathan in 2009 conferred on him the National Honor of Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR).
